Restructuring Old-Age Pension Institutions
Starting 2005 the will be no more differentiation between the social security institutions for employees and laborers.
Until then there has been – historically motivated – a strict differentiation between those insured by Landesversicherungsanstalt (LVA) and Bundesversicherungsanstalt für Angestellte (BfA). The name of the new institution will be “Deutsche Rentenversicheurng (German Old-Age Pension Insurance)”. The local offices of LVA will continue as regional offices of the new insurance. This restructuring is due to the growing change in job profiles.
What do you have to take care of? Nothing, what so ever. You will be informed by social security authority on all measurements in due time. Your social security number will not change.
