From Parking Offender to Pedestrian
Some people simply dislike following rules. They ignore “No Parking” signs and throw away parking tickets. When caught red-handed, they violently protest to the traffic warden. This story is about such a guy; let’s call him Robin Street.
Robin Street did not care for parking signs or parking tickets at all. Between 2002 and 2005 he “disposed” of some 100 tickets. Recently, he was sentenced to one year in prison for all this and for assaulting a traffic warden when caught in flagranti. On top of this, his driver’s license was permanently revoked. The authorities deemed that he is unlikely to follow traffic rules, and will therefore continue to constitute a threat to public safety and order.
This is a true story shortly in a nutshell. And what does this story tell us? Sometimes, minor offences can pile up into a big problem.Published on the old CMS: 2006/12/30
